Renault claim the top prize at the 2024 Car of the Year Awards
Renault celebrated a huge victory with their New Scenic E-Tech, winning the 61st prestigious title Car of the Year for 2024. Here at Budgen, we couldn’t be more delighted to see one of our esteemed brands claim such a significant and well-deserved accolade.
The ceremony took place at the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) and out of a strong shortlist of seven other finalists, the Renault Scenic E-Tech soared to victory with 329 votes in its favour.
Setting the Scenic
The Renault Scenic E-Tech comes from a long line of people-moving pedigree and proudly carries its legacy of being a highly practical model. Boasting a 379-mile range, the Renault Scenic E-Tech has made a strong impression not just in the electric car world, but also drawing admiration from the motoring industry as a whole.
It’s not difficult to see why the judges were so impressed with the Scenic E-Tech, with many of its upgraded features exuding more of this classic model’s finesse. This super smart SUV prides itself on serving all its passengers, from its spacious well-equipped seating to its 545 litres of loading capacity in the boot, which can be increased to a whopping 1,670 litres when the rear bench seat is folded down. The Scenic E-Tech’s impressive tech system was also celebrated, with its 12-inch touchscreen infotainment screen lauded for its crisp graphics, selection of over 50 apps, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Play, as well as Google newly integrated into its openR link system, making navigation a breeze wherever you go!
Worthy mentions
Although Renault were the big winners on the night, there was further success for a Budgen-represented brand, PEUGEOT – who secured an incredible third place with the New 3008 with 197 votes. This boldly designed five-door small SUV provides an impressive driving experience with its classy, spacious interior and powerful petrol engine – and this certainly impressed its judging peers.
The 3008’s smooth driving is enabled by its soft suspension and 19-inch alloy wheels (depending on trim), making handling a dream while remaining supremely comfortable as you travel. It is no wonder that it stood out as a worthy contender among strong competition.
